I've cancelled all subscriptions to print media and only have paid subs here on substack now. Traditional media is both dead and horribly corrupt, not to mention most of 'new media' too.
So you’ve essentially swapped hard facts (traditionally & still generally the purview of “mainstream media”) for a bunch of opinions by laypeople. No wonder the USA gets less & less intelligent by the day.
Thank you for so eloquently writing what all of us parents should have been screaming for the last 18 months. Enough is enough with this zero covid fantasy. And the next battle will be shot mandates for little ones with no scientific validity for their necessity and no idea of the long term consequences.
Words can't express how your piece was. You are so right in everything that is wrong in this big picture.. Are only a few of us looking into statistics on how masks are absolutely wrong for our children?? Why isn't anyone else speaking out!! I recently emailed our youngest sons school principal and stated to him how angry I was that our children have to eat outside, 6ft away from their friends, have to look forward, can't talk, and are getting not even a 15 minute lunch?? WTF!!! With this in mind, are our children now going to have a eating disorder along with all the other crap they have to endor?? I'm sick of the media lying to everyone and refuse to watch the news. Sick of parents just going along with what the school superintendent says about masks and how they stop the spread of all these variants!! This PlanDemic is making our children's future even dimmer than it has been for them. What are they supposed to look forward to? We can't ever get back the almost 2 years that have been stolen from them. Thank you for your amazing article and I will be standing up for my children now even more than ever..
I joined a group called ACESConnection in 2013. ACEs —-> Adverse Childhood Experiences from the ACEs Study of Felitti & Anda.
The group was supposed to be about creating a world that stopped child abuse & adversity. (There is a lot of that in the world.) But it morphed into WOKE & support & Promotion of the “New Normal” & all Covid policies less than 1 week after 3/11/2020.
I was kicked out of the group because like You - I begged them not to sacrifice children.
I have no respect for any of these groups or any of these people anymore. I believe some hold pure malevolence towards kids & some are just deceived but sacrificing children for ANYTHING is NEVER acceptable.
Ummm asking children to wear a mask and do their schoolwork online hardly qualifies as a “sacrifice”. Going hungry or thirsty or without health care DOES qualify, but where do any of the people on here talk about what needs to happen to cure those ills? And not just in the USA but worldwide? In Myanmar and Eritrea and the Sudan? THOSE children actually are being sacrificed. Get your head out of the proverbial sand and look around at some of the REAL issues facing the majority of the worlds children.
I’m a general pediatrician with an ACE Score of 9 who grew up in Poverty in a Broke down trainer in Rural MI w/Rats as big as cats, no food, heat or running water - we crapped in a white plastic bucket and threw it outside - I saw my dad kill my grandmother in front of me when I was 4, saw a migrant stabbed and bleed out, ended up homeless as a kid and then in foster care. I survived by telling myself as a little kid that at least my dad wasn’t selling my body for Crack and at least I wasn’t starving to death like the kids on the TV in Ethiopia.
I know a lot about suffering. 1/3 of my Peds patients right here in rural MI were on 5 or 6 psych drugs after their parents lost custody due to dying of a J&J’s Synthetic Opioid Overdose & being Neglected and Sexually abused.
I’ve spent my entire life thinking about and caring about one thing, preventing and ending child abuse.
Wearing masks harms kids, in-fact a 15 year old family friend hung himself because of masking and fear porn May 2020. Lots of kids hung themselves.
I don’t need a smug dummy talking to me like that. Masking kids and forcing them into overblown fear IS CHILD ABUSE! Keeping them from friends and normal activities of socialization IS CHILD ABUSE!
What we did to kids doubled Adolescent opioid overdose deaths, increased adolescent suicide by 50 percent, doubled anxiety, depression and child psychotropic use, and massively increased obesity.
And we’d all be better off w/o this abomination we call “Health Care” that we have in the US.

Well said! Your suffering has brought you wisdom and compassion. We have just been subjected to biological and psychological attacks from our own governments (I live in the UK), now controlled by the WEF/WHO/UN. The worst of it has been what they have done to children. They are barely affected by Covid-19 and never needed to be vaccinated against it. Wearing masks is physically, psychologically and socially unhealthy and the lockdowns and psy-ops were designed to break down their (and our) mental defences and weaken their immune systems through isolation, depression and lack of vitamin D.
If this really was an unplanned pandemic that disproportionately affected the elderly, and those in charge really cared about children's health, children would have been allowed to lead normal lives. In fact, as per the Great Barrington Declaration, only care homes and geriatric wards should have been locked down. But this was not unplanned: it was planned in meticulous detail, the greatest crime ever committed against mankind, with many baleful long-term consequences - and that means that our children, who are the future of humanity, are going to suffer the most.

My son lost his last year in high school and then his freshman year of college to this insanity, and has been plunged into deep depression since April of 2020. You're so right that we should be thanking our children for the hardships they endured and looking for anything we can do to make up for it. Unfortunately neither their high schools nor their colleges is doing anything special for the Class of 2020, and other classes have suffered as well for literally no good reason. So many kids who were driven online for school all day, from very young children to college kids, have developed bizarre mental illness that did not even exist 10 years ago due to social media influence and the physical impact of being glued to a screen all day. More people need to be raising their voices against this sort of tyranny - thank you again.
I am a retiree with no offspring and my mother is 97 in somewhat diminished health. Your extremely well-written commentary hits the key points and I concur with every aspect of this post. I work with many children (I teach them a public speaking and presentation program) and have watched the impacts you describe. If anything, you are too gentle and polite in your assessments of the "powers that be" and their inordinate, misguided and completely erroneous non-medical interventions. From the beginning, I have asserted that the C19 spread through aerosols: I was vilified by friends and colleagues. The CDC and WHO quietly updated their web sites with that fact BUT the media, governments and medical professionals have conveniently ignored that. From the beginning, I have asserted that the social distancing was misguided - especially when the WHO stated one meter but Canada has enforced two meters throughout. It didn't do squat to prevent spread because: aerosols!
I am not surprised by what has happened to society. This has, in my personal opinion, been the most highly orchestrated psychological operation ever conducted. Media, the medical profession and governments have moved in lock-step - any contrary opinion has been effectively squashed. Am I anti-VAX? Nope - mumps, measles, and other childhood illnesses have responded well to vaccines. However, to class a corona virus in the same category as those and others previously mentioned is a false equivalence. The former do NOT mutate rapidly and don't have animal hosts; the corona viruses mutate rapidly and do jump from animal species to humans. It is for that reason that we have never had an effective vaccine for the common cold or annual flu. Oh yes, the annual flu vaccine is only between 4% and a maximum of 20% effective in any given year. Further, that efficacy is usually on the lower end.
Kudos to you for raising the many valid points you do. The fear-mongering must be quelled.
My great grand daughter has had her 7th and and 8th birthdays cancelled in an Australian state where 1 in 2,000 people had a positive fake PCR, two grand daughters had their long planned 30th birthdays cancelled, they had to cancel their kids 2nd and 4th birthday party, all this for 1 in 2,000 people with a fake positive test.
Fake positive tests? Ummm why do you think this? Also I hate to tell you this but birthday parties for 2 year olds aren’t really for the toddlers they’re for the parents. Or do you remember yours with great fondness and have a belief that your “threes” would have been horrible without a second birthday 🎂

This always used to be the understanding: children go first to the lifeboats on the Titanic. These days it's almost as if we'd make them go last. I don't want to drown, but if there's only a lifeboat for my kids or for me they get them first.
I don't know why so many people are now happy with children being the lowest priority.
Maybe because a lot of people don't want to have children and think the world is overpopulated. "Be fruitful and multiply" has become old fashioned. Now we are a nation of codgers and spinsters who hide their visceral dislike of kids, so they can use them as political tools.
